who are we?



On January 16, 2013 the City Council of Son Servera and the City Council of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, together with the Hotel Association Badia de Cala Millor-Sa Coma, created the Consorci de Turisme de Son Servera i Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. It is a public law organization that enjoys its own legal personality and was created with the aim of promoting and encouraging tourism in the respective municipalities. The tourist area of Son Servera and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar has about 35,000 beds and is the third most important destination in the Balearic Islands.

The estimated investment that has an impact on the projects defined in the roadmap set by the Tourism Consortium is about 15 million euros, a sum that is divided between all those initiatives managed by the Consortium itself, as well as those directly undertaken by the municipalities of Son Servera and Sant Llorenç.

The common denominator of all of them is the action on sustainability and promotion of Cala Millor as a tourist destination deseasonalitzado. The financing of the projects comes mainly from both European Next Generation funds and direct EU investments in the municipalities, as is the case of the LIFE Project

The main objectives of the Consorci de Turisme de Son Servera i Sant Llorenç des Cardassar are:

  • To study tourism and commercial problems linked to the tourism sector, and to adopt or propose appropriate measures to solve them.
  • To contribute to the defense of the natural and cultural resources of the municipalities.
  • To study and analyze the tourist reality of the area and to offer the information obtained to the sector.
  • To promote the active presence of both municipalities in the tourist market and to procure the coordination of the sectors interested in the promotion of tourism.
  • To favor, help and make possible the adaptation of infrastructures and tourist services, as well as to support the private initiative of the sector.
  • To favor and promote the celebration of conventions, meetings, events and similar activities.
  • To promote the tourist sector and the concepts of lodging, restoration, agencies of intermediation, activities of active, cultural and leisure tourism.
  • To elaborate material of divulgation, publicity and of image necessary to make known the tourist resources of both municipalities with the purpose of fomenting the attraction of visitors.
  • To collaborate with other public or private entities to promote the municipalities for the benefit of attracting visitors.
  • To promote and, where appropriate, to participate in agreements with other public or private entities to finance tourist and commercial promotion campaigns, and to achieve any other purpose established in these Statutes.
  • To coordinate, energize and collaborate with all sectors interested in the promotion of tourism and especially with the commercial sector linked to the tourism sector.
  • To coordinate the activities with the municipal areas and dependencies of both local entities that are related to the activity of the Consortium.
  • To promote, manage and market products and services of tourist interest.
  • To manage facilities and equipment of tourist interest.
  • To promote activities aimed at increasing tourist demand.
  • To manage, promote and carry out all those civic activities that can benefit the increase and quality of the tourist offer.

Governing bodies

The Tourism Consortium has the following governing bodies

  • Presidency
  • General Meeting
  • Board of Directors
  • Management.
  • In addition, it also has an Advisory Council.

The Presidency of the Consortium is held by the mayors of the City Council of Son *Servera and the City Council of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar on a rotating basis and for a period of 2 years. The Vice-presidency is assumed by the mayor who in this rotating period does not occupy the Presidency, also for a period of 2 years. The Management has attributed the functions of management, administration and economic and commercial planning of the Consortium of Tourism on the basis of the directives established by the General Meeting, the Board of Directors and its Presidency.

The Board of Directors approved the creation of the Advisory Board in February 2016 to actively involve the sector’s entrepreneurs in tourism promotion because it considered it necessary to strengthen the links between the different business groups and the entity, in order to promote the experiences offered to tourists at the destination.
