Projects

The Consorci de Turisme de Son Servera i Sant Llorenç des Cardassar participates in numerous projects that accumulate a total of 15 million euros of investment, divided into initiatives that specifically manages the Consortium itself and others that are directly executed by the municipalities of Son Servera and Sant Llorenç.

Most of the projects involve direct action on the tourist destination of Cala Millor, which are part of a roadmap led by the Tourism Consortium that focus especially on improving the sustainability of the region, making it a destination adapted to climate change, while involving a stimulus to economic activity and promote seasonality.

Son Servera Town Hall

The long-distance footpath GR East Mallorca consists of the creation and signposting of a long-distance footpath (GR) that allows the east of the island of Mallorca to be crossed on foot or by bicycle. The path East Mallorca will link several towns on a route of 193.78 km in total, involving the municipalities of Artà, Capdepera, Manacor, Sant Llorenç and Son Servera.

Sant Llorenç Town Hall

Thanks to this investment, a direct improvement of the tourist destination is being carried out with the redevelopment of the commercial area of Carrer Cristòfol Colom, as well as 9 transversal streets, together with the enhancement of the dune area. It includes the study of salt water infiltration points, control of spillages and regeneration of the dune area, increasing pedestrian areas, quality and durable local products, low maintenance and reduced energy consumption.

Son Servera Town Hall

This project involves a total of 4 actions: firstly, the construction of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) to collect and control rainwater, minimising the risk of flooding in urban areas; secondly, the installation of children’s and youth activities in the Puig de sa Bassa park; which will have children’s games and a bicycle circuit for young people, together with new street furniture; thirdly, the remodelling and adaptation of Sol street, revitalising the commercial axis with an obstacle-free space and pavement design by Javier Mariscal, including the reuse of materials and renovation of networks to reduce waste, as well as reinforcing vegetation and monitoring street lighting; and finally, the beautification and improvement of the Cala Mejor Paseo Marítimo thanks to the renovation of the pavement, the creation of recreational areas, the installation of functional and environmental lighting, the replacement of signage and the renovation of street furniture.

Tourism Consortium

This is a long-term climate change adaptation project in the urban beach of Cala Mejor, through science-based guidelines and governance processes. It includes measures in the short term for sand supply, in the medium term for the recovery of dune areas and in the long term for the release of space through the removal of buildings.

Tourism Consortium

This project is oriented towards the development of different sub-projects.The first of these is the SAGTIGA Project which develops a system to improve information and knowledge of the water cycle in a tourist destination, allowing the application of destination intelligence for improved management by managers and end consumers; secondly, the “Capacity control system” which uses analytics from access cameras and people counting on the beaches of Cala Millor; thirdly, the Project for the Construction of a Beach Football and Beach Volleyball Field at the Cala Millor Sports and Services Centre, with the aim of adapting the facilities for the holding of national championships; finally, the launch of an ideas competition for the extension and improvement of the high performance sports centre in Cala Millor.

Son Servera Town Hall

This project consists of 2 specific actions in Son Servera: first, the renovation of the streets Na Peñal and Ca Ca Hereu de Cala Mejor, with improvements in pedestrian space, drainage and Smart Cities technology, to maintain tourist quality and offer a modern promenade and inclusive services; secondly, the renovation of the streets Tramuntana and Xaloc de Cala Bona, with improvements in paving, lighting, drainage, drinking water, sanitation and street furniture, focusing on environmental sustainability and Smart Cities technology to maintain the level of tourist quality and provide a modern and functional environment.

Sant Llorenç Town Hall

It includes 2 actions in Sant Llorenç: on the one hand, the enlargement of the stands and changing rooms in the Cala Millor Tourist Sports Centre Project; and on the other, the remodelling of Avenida ses Savines to pacify traffic, increase pedestrian spaces, improve the visibility of shops and comply with the Accessibility Law. It includes drainage measures to avoid problems of sand dragging on the beach and a focus on environmental sustainability and Smart Cities technology.

Cala Millor is part of the Mallorca DTI project, led by the Consell de Mallorca. It is a very ambitious project to propose 53 experiences based on the philosophy and model of a smart tourist destination that pivots on 5 axes: governance, innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility.

Dates Project

Dates Space for Tourism

The aim of the DATES – Data Space for Tourism project is to develop a strategic roadmap for building a Tourism Data Space, a particular type of data exchange initiative characterised by a higher level of data control by participants, in collaboration with stakeholders in the tourism sector.
