Four beaches of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and Son Servera are awarded the Blue Flag

The name of the Spanish beaches that have obtained a Blue Flag, the quality mark with which the Association of Environmental Education and Consumer (ADEAC) recognizes the best beaches based on the state of the water, the level of beach services and the safety of bathers, is already known.

Among the distinguished beaches are four belonging to the municipalities of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and Son Servera. Specifically, they are Cala Millor (Cala Nau, in Sant Llorenç), Sa Coma, Es Ribell and Cala Millor (Son Servera).

On this occasion, when making the assessments, the management of the accumulations of Posidonia oceanica leaves detached by storms and dragged by the waves to the shore has also been taken into account, reminding that out of season they should not be removed from any beach, including urban beaches, because they are “very valuable” for the functioning of coastal ecosystems.
